Osteoporosis Screening

Osteoporosis is a disease that results in decreased bone density, or thickness, and therefore attributes to weak and fragile bones. Osteoporosis may also be considered a "silent disease" and if left untreated it can progress painlessly until a bone breaks.

Osteoporosis screening (bone density testing) is a non-invasive procedure that requires a single bare foot and is usually completed in less than one minute. It works by measuring the density of the heel bone using ultrasound. It compares individual results with research-established norms.

If you would like your company's employees to take advantage of our complementary follow-up counseling, request our Follow-up Counseling Handout.pdf. The handout describes how we provide this service via telephone or email for up to two weeks after the screening.
