- Question: Do I need to send in all required paperwork all at once?
Answer: No. The hiring process starts once we receive either your application or resume. Sending in all paperwork at once, however, does make the hiring process move more quickly.
- Question: Is it better to fax, mail or email the required paperwork?
Answer: Faxing over the paperwork is preferred and is received by a secure fax. The fax # is a efax which works just like a regular fax and sends the paperwork directly into the recruiters email. Please choose only one way to send your paperwork. Please note that if you send your paperwork by mail, it may take up to 2 weeks before you are notified that your paperwork has been received.
- Question: What happens after my paperwork is received?
Answer: Once your paperwork is received, you will receive a email inviting you to schedule yourself for a interview on our online signup. Please make sure you include a working and legible email on your application.
- Question: What is an Independent Contractor?
Answer: An Independent Contractor basically means that you would be self employed by our company. You are not guaranteed a certain number of hours, and work on a PRN basis based on your availability. Taxes are not taken out of the money that you earn, and you are responsible for filing your taxes at the end of the year. A W9 form is filled out by you, which allows us to send you a 1099 form at the end of the year if you make $600.00 or more with our company.
- Question: How do I get paid for the events that I work?
Answer: Once hired, you will have access to the "Staff Login" page of our website, where we have an online time log. A check will be sent to you by mail. We do not do direct deposit.
- Question: Do you ever hire medical professionals part time or full time?
Answer: No. Due to the nature of our business, we can not guarantee anyone part time or full time work.
- Question: Do you ever hire nonmedical staff?
Answer: No, we routinely do not hire nonmedical professionals.
- Question: Will I have to travel?
Answer: No. Traveling is not required. Our Indepenent Contractors are kept within their metro area. If asked to travel, proper travel reimburesement will be paid.
- Question: How will I be contacted when there is a event in my metro area?
Answer: Each Independent Contractor is placed into a metro area, which covers all areas within a 200 mile radius of that metro area. When a event is coming up within that metro area, all staff in the metro area, are notified by email. The email contains a link to our website, in which you may nominate yourself for the event, if you are available. You do not have to wait to receive a email, you may also log onto the "Staff Login" page of our website to view and nominate for any upcoming events in your area in which you are available to work. All nominations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis and based on proximity to the clinic.
- Question: How far in advance will I be notified of events going on in my metro area?
Answer: Typically we notify Indepenent Contractors of events within the metro area, within 30 days of the event taking place.
- Question: How busy with work can I stay working for your company?
Answer: It all depends on the time of year, and the metro area in which you are located. There are some metro areas that are busier than others. Our busiest time of the year is in the fall during flu season. We do health fairs year round, but our busiest time for health fairs are in the spring. This is not a position in which you should rely on a steady income.
- Question: Is there a certain number of hours or events that I need to work to stay employed as an Independent Contractor by your company?
Answer: No. Due to the nature of our company we can not guarantee you work, therefore we do not hold you accountable for a certain number of hours or events worked.
- Question: Do you ever have events on the weekends?
Answer: Since all of our events are corporate, the majority of our events are held Monday through Friday during normal business hours. We rarely have events on the weekends.
- Question: Will I ever have to work an event by myself?
Answer: All health fairs are staffed with an event coordinator. The coordinator is specially trained and in charge of that particular event. They bring the equipment, orientate everyone on the equipment being used for that event, and send all equipment back to us. You will never work a health fair (containing more than one service) by yourself. However, the majority of our flu clinics are done independently. You are expected to do 32 shots per hour, and all supplies for the flu clinic are shipped to your house approximately 1 week prior to your event.
- Question: What orientation do I receive prior to working my first event?
Answer: We have a very detailed policies and procedures manual that you are expected to read prior to working your first event and signing the Independent Contractors Agreement. A link to the manual is located on the "Staff Recruitment" page. For all health fairs, staff are scheduled to arrive 1 1/2 to 2 hours prior to the clinic start time, which allows time for setting up and orientation on equipment being used for that event. Once hired, you will have access to our "Staff Login" page where you will have access to screening handouts and procedures. Flu clinics are outlined in great detail in our policies and procedures manual. There is always a nurse on call to answer any policy and procedure questions that you may have prior to an event.
- Question: What medical professionals are scheduled to work your Flu Clinics and Health Fairs?
Answer: We only schedule RN's, LPN's and LVN's to work our flu clinics at this time. We use RN, LPN, LVN, MA, CNA, and Phlebotomists to staff our Health Fairs.
